Dear Respected Community,
As-salamu `Alaykuim Wa Rahmatu Allah,
I hope this message finds you well.
As the Islamic New Year begins, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to you and your loved ones.
This occasion holds great significance as it provides us with a moment of reflection, reminding us of Khalifa Omar Ibn Khattab’s (RA) historical decision to start the Islamic calendar with the momentous event of the Prophet Mohamed’s (PBUH) migration (The Hijrah).
Omar Ibn Al Khattab’s wise and guided decision to mark the Islamic calendar from the prophetic Hijrah exemplified the inclusivity and unity of the Ummah. By selecting a milestone that embraced the entire Muslim community, regardless of their backgrounds, positions, or social standings, he laid the foundation for the Ummah as a whole collective success during the migration. Its significance has earned divine recognition from Allah, destined to inspire future generations.

As we celebrate this historical event and the wisdom of Omar Ibn Khattab, let us reflect on our collective achievements as a Muslim community in the USA. Our diverse, dedicated, and harmonious community has the opportunity to create a legacy that will be remembered and revered by future generations, inshallah. Let us contemplate our accomplishments, celebrate our successes, and identify areas for improvement in the coming years for the greater good of our community and society.
As we embark on this new Islamic year, let us commit ourselves to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Working together towards this common goal can promote greater harmony, tolerance, and understanding within our diverse community. Let us strive to be role models for inclusivity and make this year a truly enriching one for all.
We sincerely thank each member for their contributions, dedication, and support, which have helped our community flourish and grow stronger. As we enter the new year, we seek every member’s continued cooperation and collaboration to uplift our community and exemplify Islamic values and principles.
May Allah’s blessings of the Islamic New Year illuminate our hearts and guide us toward greater unity, compassion, and prosperity.
