Iqra Fellowship

The Iqra Fellowship is a year-long initiative aimed at helping Muslim Americans build the spiritual and philosophical foundations to critically deconstruct Western and liberal paradigms.

In an era marked by rapid change and moral confusion, American Muslims face unique and complex challenges. This fellowship seeks to respond to those realities by grounding participants in the wisdom of our faith. Through deep engagement with topics such as morality, ethics, and the intellectual traditions that have shaped both Islamic and modern thought, fellows will explore how our rich spiritual and philosophical tradition offers meaningful guidance for today’s existential questions and cultural dilemmas.

By building strong foundations in key Islamic concepts and frameworks, fellows will develop the ability to evaluate ideas and navigate the world through anIslamic lens. The Iqra Fellowship’s long-term goal is to cultivate a generation of American Muslims (and especially leaders) equipped with the tools, language, and support network necessary to serve their communities and the broader Ummah with confidence, integrity and insight.

We are seeking applicants who are intellectually curious, spiritually sincere, and eager to challenge and expand the ways they understand the world. The fellowship demands active participation, a commitment to adab (proper conduct), and a willingness to wrestle with difficult questions in pursuit of truth and clarity.

The Iqra Fellowship is a continuing education program for intellectual and spiritual enrichment. It is not a graduate program or master’s degree. The primary target audience is college students and young adults (20s~30s), but all are welcome to apply.
