DESCRIPTION:
This course explores the quest of attaining spiritual excellence. Students will learn proper etiquette (adab) through a comprehensive study of the Prophet’s ﷺ character. They will examine the causes of and practical cures for common spiritual diseases, how to avoid pitfalls that lead to sin, and the means that lead to salvation. They will also explore ideas and projects for the spiritual development of the community. At the end of the course, students will understand how context, priorities and goals factor into shaping a proper approach to Islamic ethical reasoning, how inner spiritual awareness translates to outward ethical behavior.
