DESCRIPTION:
This course provides a rigorous study of the wisdom of the Qurʾān through the exploration of the main Qurʾānic themes pertaining to human ontology, natural cosmology, women and gender, family, dialogue, international relations, war and peace and others. By the end of the course, students will have acquired appropriate interpretational methodologies for spiritual contemplation and practical application of Qurʾānic themes and teachings. Moreover, they will have a holistic understanding of the Qurʾān’s context, content and style as well as how the Qurʾān informs universal concepts that are relevant today.
