BIS is excited to share the culmination of an enriching and transformative experience – MIRL Annual Retreat 2023!

Throughout these five days, our Master’s students delved into academic exploration, personal development, and spiritual nourishment with the BIS esteemed faculty and guest speakers.

It was a space where students engaged in hands-on activities, lively discussions, and reflective sessions that deepened their connection to religious texts and their application in today’s context.

The retreat witnessed presentations, discussions, and moments of camaraderie that highlighted the commitment of our Master’s students to enhancing their leadership skills and fostering positive change within their communities.

From theological foundations to critical thinking skills, from spiritual growth to practical leadership competencies, this retreat has been a holistic journey toward transformation.

Prof. Sharif El-Tobgui, Affiliated Adjunct Associate Professor, was among the initial MIRL curriculum committee. He was asked about his experience with the students and their alignment with the committee’s vision, and his reply was as follows:

As the retreat comes to a close, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our faculty, speakers, students, staff, and volunteers for their active participation and dedication throughout this retreat.

Prof. Basyouny Nehela, President & Dean of Academic Affairs, commented on this year’s retreat:

It is a reminder that pursuing knowledge and the aspiration for personal growth are lifelong endeavors.

May success and continuous growth accompany all in their academic and personal ventures.
