The BIS Hajj Fellowship Program aims at imparting (1) foundational knowledge of Islamic texts and sciences related to Hajj (2) the means to apply, implement and disseminate these knowledge through practical applications. These goals are achieved in three stages: Iqra’, Tadabbar, and I’mal. Hajj fellowship will explore Fiqh (Jurisprudence), rules, practices and manners surrounding the Hajj as dictated by the Islamic teachings of the Prophet (PBUH). The Fellowship will also address the different interpretations from among Islamic scholars and Islamic Madhahib (schools of thought).
Participants will journey through different aspects of Hajj understanding, spirituality and Hajj Manasik (Rituals). Instructors and guest speakers will present their own experiences throughout the fellowship, and emphasis will be given to the transformational aspects of Hajj (before, during, and after the physical journey itself).
