Boston Islamic Seminary (BIS) has applied to the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education (BHE) for approval to grant a Masters of Islamic Religious Leadership degree (MIRL). The BHE will consider a motion regarding the approval of the proposed program and vote on the matter of conferring degree-granting authority upon BIS for the MIRL program.
Part of the application process is to notify the public of the application and invite comments on both BIS’s proposal to grant degrees in general and on the MIRL program in particular. On behalf of the Board of Directors, faculty, and staff of BIS, I am pleased to invite those comments via this notice.
The public comment period begins on November 23, 2020 and will close three weeks thereafter, on December 14, 2020. Written comments on the proposed program and request for degree-granting authority may be submitted before 5:00 pm on December 14, 2020, by directing the same to the following:
