Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Boston Islamic Seminary’s MIRL program will have career opportunities serving as imams in mosques; leaders of Islamic centers; chaplains in hospitals, universities, prisons and the military; youth leaders and guidance counselors; community outreach and communications specialists and similar religious and professional roles. In addition, the training students receive in our graduate school will equip them to bring an Islamic framework to other career paths and disciplines they may choose to pursue in the future. When appropriate, the Seminary will establish a Career Center that will assist students in securing employment opportunities after graduation, as well as internship opportunities during the program. Based on the experience of institutions similar to Boston Islamic Seminary, we expect that our graduates will go on to complete doctoral programs or secure positions in non-profit institutions that serve a variety of missions.
